Here are testimonies from people whose lives have been changed by God through the ministry of the Do What Jesus Did Team.

Angela

Angela followed Jesus' command to be baptised!

Linda

Linda grew up in a home where drunken rages and verbal abuse was the norm. Her grandmother tried to take Linda’s life with a butcher knife. Her mother is Native American and believes in native spirits. Native superstition and spiritual forces were a strong influence in Mom’s life. Linda was not loved or nurtured growing up. She was never encouraged or affirmed. Hers was not a safe home. She did not learn to read until she was in her late teens. “Too stupid and not worth anything” was the message she had drilled into her.

But God had a plan for Linda. She came to Christ as a child and kept going to church in spite of the opposition and ridicule of her family. At last she found somebody who loved her, Jesus.

In spite of abuse and resulting low self esteem, this precious young woman kept pressing in to God and wanted to serve and please Him. She wanted to go Bible School but was too ashamed to tell anyone that she couldn’t read. She couldn’t even read the Bible. Again, God stepped in and sent a wonderful man of God who taught her to read. So, off she went to Bible School at last. This was followed by 10 years of missionary service in the Caribbean.

Even though she had been a missionary and children’s church minister she had negative things she struggled with. No one would ever know by looking at her. Linda battled panic and feelings of being unwanted and not loved. She felt isolated and unable to receive love from others. Behind the smile was a hurting heart.

Linda started coming to our Do What Jesus Did meetings. She saw others being healed and set free from horrible and paralyzing bondage. She began to have hope, she was learning there are answers.

At last she made an appointment for ministry. Hurts and wounds were healed. Legal rights demonic forces had held from the moment of conception were broken. Curses that had been in place in the father’s family line for 40 generations were lifted. Linda no longer feels loneliness in her heart. She does not feel abandoned. At last she can say “It is OK to be me.”

Marsha

Our DWJD Team told the spirit of infirmity to take his hands off Marsha's (not her real name) heart. Arrogantly, he replied "I don't have to." "What is your legal right that you don't have to obey?" we asked. "Her daddy broke her heart when she was two years old" he bragged. We led Marsha in forgiving her daddy and asking Jesus to come to the hurting little girl inside with HIS healing. When we asked the demon of infirmity if he had any further legal rights the answer was "No." We promptly dispatched the demon and all his kind to the Pit.

The first time we saw Marsha she was wearing a mask to protect herself from environmental irritants that caused her to be ill. After ministry that day she left without wearing her mask. The healing of her broken heart as a little girl made the way for her physical healing and spiritual freedom.

Jareed

Jareed (not her real name) was born in Sir Lanka, a tropical island off the Southeast coast of the Indian subcontinent. She has lived and worked in Canada for the last four years. Jareed has come to know Jesus Christ as her Savior and wants to honor Him with her whole heart. But something was blocking her from being able to know the presence of her Heavenly Father God. Something kept her from growing as a child of God. She was determined to get free.

At a Spiritual Freedom Conference in Canada Jareed met the Portland Do What Jesus Did Team Leader and Northwest Regional Director, Pastor Bill Hays and his wife Edra. She stayed in touch with them by e-mail. She kept pressing in for ministry to get the help she needed.

In her search for value and meaning in life she turned to the many things in the culture in which she lived for answers. Jareed longed to be loved for who she is and treated with respect and kindness. She wanted to be married. But nothing worked. She experienced heartache, disappointment, and despair.

In her own words she said “I was going from place to place trying all kinds of magic, witchcraft, gods and anything else I could find to fulfill my desire to be married and have a happy life. Things like Buddhism, Hare Krishna, Islam, Hinduism, Jehovah’s Witness, devotion to swamis/gurus, blood pacts, charms/medallions. One time a fortune teller asked me to give them some of my blood so I could get a husband.”

As a result she began to experience demonic manifestations. Even though she loved the Lord she was unable to read the Bible, couldn’t pray to God or Jesus. At times she was attacked by a sexual spirit of incubus.

During the time of ministry the DWJD Team lead Jareed in repenting of and renouncing the worship of demon gods and breaking of curses. One of the curses placed on her family was that they would be fatherless children and the family would be scattered. She broke that curse and asked God to bless her family. When she went home she took some tools to help her release blessing and protection over her family.

The power of three strong demons connected to Buddhism was broken and made to leave this lovely, gentle woman of God.

Since that time Jareed has been offered a new and better job. She is experiencing more peace and contentment than ever before. She is learning to get free, stay free and live free.
